Hitherto is a tool for personal prayer and reflection. It is not counseling, therapy or medical care, and it does not promise any outcome to prayer. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away.

Do I need an account?
No. Hitherto has no accounts or sign-in. Open the app and begin.
Where are my prayers stored? Can anyone read them?
Only on your iPhone. We have no servers and cannot see anything you write. Your data is included in your iPhone's own iCloud or computer backup if you use one.
I got a new iPhone. How do I move my prayers?
Restore your new iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup of your old one, and Hitherto's data comes with it. Hitherto doesn't sync between devices yet.
How do I restore my Premium purchase?
Open Settings in Hitherto and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID you used to buy.
How do I cancel my subscription or free trial?
On your iPhone, open Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Hitherto, then cancel. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or period ends. Hitherto also reminds you 2 days before a free trial ends.
What happens after day 90 of the daily practice?
The plan starts again at day 1. More plans, starting with seasonal ones, are being added.
Which Bible translation does Hitherto use?
The Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which is in the public domain. It's built into the app and works offline.
I'm not getting my daily reminder.
Check that reminders are on in Hitherto's Settings, and that notifications for Hitherto are allowed in your iPhone's Settings > Notifications. Focus modes can also silence them.
